In January 2014 the German publisher Gerstenberg Verlag will publish a cloth book version of the famous children's book by Eric Carle. This book has been described as "one of the greatest childhood classics of all time and it has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
Rettore and its partner have the been consultant for the development and production of this new cloth book.

Even though the industry is in a shaky period, Frankfurt has for the most part been business as usual for us. We had less new titles this fair, but the feedback has been good and we signed more orders at this fair than in Frankfurt last year.

This will be our 14th Frankfurt Book Fair.

In Utrecht Library 26 June it was set a world record for reading to babies. 327 babies were simultaneously read to by reading ambassador Ruben Nicolai. The record attempt took place in the framework of the Year of Reading and the fifth anniversary of Book Start. The organization wants to draw attention to the importance of reading to very young children.

After launched by Mayor of Utrecht Aleid Wolfsen read Ruben Nicolai for the Book Start Baby Book of the Year Miffy and wildlife . Parents and teachers read the book simultaneously for their baby. It is the world's first time at the same time so many babies to read. The Book Start Baby Reading Record is registered with Guinness World Records.

So it is official! Monday 27 May, the jury announced that Miffy and wildlife of Dick Bruna (Mercis Publishing) is elected Book Start Baby Book of the Year 2013. This new book honors books for younger children, 0-1.5 years. This is the first time that this price has been awarded and they have judged baby books  of the last 5 years.

One of Francesca Ferri`s beautiful illustrations (from the book "Baby Bear") is on the front cover of the Nordic countries`catalogue for the Bologna Book Fair. 

Our Italian customer, Edizioni EL, has been nominated as Best Children's Publisher in Europe for the BOP - Bologna Prize.
